Wedding stop

Romance has surrounded the lakeside gazebo since ancient times. Well, it has become a special place for marriage ceremonies. Across the lake, the wind plays the wedding march and the young couple stand at the end of the long row of stairs strewn with roses to walk step by step to the flower-adorned altar.

The prince’s son fell in love with a beautiful maid and secretly met her under an oak tree in the palace garden. Today, newlyweds come to this meeting place of lovers and, inspired by ancient beliefs, give each other bells. They tie them together as if they were their future lives and throw them into the thick branches to borrow the power of the oak tree.

A solemnly decorated horse-drawn carriage will greet the Newlyweds from the distant entrance gate and drive all the way to the main door of Bīriņi Castle, before performing a lap of honor in the Castle courtyard and, if desired, taking them to the Oak of Love.

You can get closer to the sky at the top of the Castle’s large tower by overcoming a small challenge of climbing and traveling across the roofs. The reward is champagne and a view from above over the lake, gazebo, park and even a stork’s nest, which is located in the smaller Castle tower opposite.

The mirror of water calms you down, allowing you to forget and distance yourself, both literally and figuratively, from everything that remains on the shore. This is a moment in a real wooden boat in the middle of the lake, just the two of you, without thinking about rowing or steering the boat.

On the hill near Dzirnavu, there is a large swing. Here you can swing your bride over the calm water of Dzirnavu Lake and capture this event in pictures. Or maybe you can spend even longer, just the two of you, peacefully reflecting on your future hopes for each other.
