How to get to Birini Castle?
By bus
From Riga Airport you need to get to Riga Bus Station, for example, by bus 22.
From Riga Bus Station to Bīriņi you can get by bus Riga – Limbaži (via Vidriži) or Riga – Ainaži (via Limbaži).
- It is advisable to ask the driver to stop at the “Bīriņu Pils” stop.
- The distance from the stop to the Castle is 0.4km through an old alley.
- Please inform us of the bus arrival time so that we can meet you at the stop and take you to the hotel.
By personal car
- When driving from Tallinn on the A1, there is an exit “Bīriņi” near Saulkrasti, then 14km to Bīriņi, where you turn right on P9 for 1km.
When driving from Riga on the A2, after 39km after the Total gas station, there will be a turn to Valmiera, then 8km on the A3 and in Raganas, turn left to Limbaži on P9 for 8km.
From Limbaži, drive 32km in the direction of Riga on P9.
From Sigulda, drive to Turaida on P8 for 2km, then turn left to Raganas on P7 for 14km, then turn right at the intersection and again left to Limbaži on P9 for 8km.
From Valmiera, drive towards Riga on A3 ~50km to Raganas, then turn right to Limbaži on P9 for 8km.
- The nearest gas station “Virši A” is 8km;
- The nearest car repair shop is 1.5km away in Bīriņi.

For cycle tourists
For cycle tourists, we recommend taking the train from Riga to Bīriņi via Saulkrasti or Sigulda and then, following the landmarks for motorists, to Bīriņi Castle.
