Birini Castle Exploration for students

During the excursion, students will learn facts about the history of Bīriņi Manor in the context of the history of Vidzeme manors, as well as explore the parks and their trails, starting with the regular series of garden stairs on the NE terraces.

The renovated water tower will then introduce you to the stories of the manor’s modernization and water extraction.

From the roof of the Water Tower, you will be able to see a large part of the manor’s central farm, including the stables, the manor manager’s house, and the woodshed.

The stable is home to not only horses and a pony, but also a herd of rabbits. The stable’s inhabitants will teach students how to properly communicate with them, what breeds they represent, and what jobs they used to do on the manor.

A quieter walk along the alley will begin from the Mellin Gate to the family tombs, which are shrouded in various stories. At the end of the lesson, students will explore the museum of ancient things set up in the Water Mill. At the end, a picnic area will await at the Dzirnezers locks.
