Winter entertainment
Sledding, ice carousels, snow sculptures, piking, roller coasters and similar activities are only possible in our wonderful Latvian winters, when the ice is frozen, safe and thick, when the snow shimmers in the sun like enchanting crystals, when the trees are covered in white and animal tracks in the snow are like a chronicle on a white page of one stage of someone’s life.
Sled
The horse, like in the old days, throwing a snowdrift, waving its tail and mane, carries the sleigh along the snowy path. The snow-covered branches run close by, occasionally throwing a twig right at us. But it’s good to watch what’s happening, take a ride and enjoy the winter
Carousel on ice
Ancestors’ carousel on ice, or ice, has long delighted Latvian children and not only children in winter, when the surface of the water turns into a safe, thick and slippery coating. It takes a bit of effort to cut the sled attached to the end of the long board, but when the slippery ice starts to help, then the fun can begin.
